Anonibet Review Summary
Anonibet call themselves “the first bitcoin sportsbook”—a title that seems to be true. The sportsbook opened their doors in early 2011, long before any other operators were on the scene.
They’re currently the longest-running Bitcoin sportsbook online and have consistently paid players in a timely fashion since their inception.
Their servers are based in the United Kingdom, but the location of their service staff and management is unknown.
Unlike many other Bitcoin-based sites, they do filter players by country and may not accept customers from illegal or grey jurisdictions.
Since 2015, the site doesn’t accept players from the United States.
Our Opinion On Anonibet
What We Like
Anonibet’s longevity is remarkable in the Bitcoin betting world. They’re easily the longest operating site in the industry.
Many sites have come and gone since they opened their doors, and a fair percentage of them have screwed players in the process.
Their success in the industry is likely due to their strong support staff. They offer live chat on every page of their site and are extremely quick to answer emails.
Without excellent support, it’s unlikely they would have made it so far based on other aspects of their sportsbook. They offer a large list of sports and betting markets.
They’re not elite in terms of markets offered but they have just about everything under the sun for the typical North American or European bettor.
They require an email address to sign up.
What We Don’t Like
Their odds just aren’t that good. Many other bitcoin-based sportsbooks have better odds on popular markets and there are a number of fiat-books that will generally beat them when it comes to pricing.
As we will describe below, their deposit bonus is on the up and up, and they’ve had several issues with bad publicity.
A forum poster alleged that they rigged a World Cup Betting contest to go to a shill or outright employee, and the evidence is damning.
They no longer take US citizens. This defeats the purpose of operating solely in bitcoin and is quite a strange move.
The live chat operator even suggested that we use a VPN to access the site, which isn’t something that one thinks a representative would tell prospective clients, especially after they decided to leave the market.
Then there are the issues of their potentially predatory bonus offer, which has dubious terms and allows Anonibet to confiscate winnings long after the bets have been settled.
Deposits And Withdrawals
Deposits at the site aren’t instant. A signal confirmation is needed for a deposit to clear. This can delay the process a bit, especially during peak hours, but deposits are normally credited within 10-15 minutes.
Eventually, you would hope they move to instant confirmations. Unlike many other sportsbooks in the industry, Anonibet only processes cashouts between a certain time period and doesn’t offer instant withdrawals.
These times are between 5:00 and 22:00 GMT. During this period, withdrawals are processed every two hours.
Anonibet Sportsbook Bonuses
Discount Bonus
Instead of a deposit bonus, the sportsbook provides VIP cashback rewards for players for each bet they make if they wager multiples, such as parlays or accumulators.
However, their unlimited deposit bonus is the real issue. Anonibet’s bonus terms are predatory, and without the bonus, the sportsbook has some of the worst odds available for bitcoin bettors.
Provided customers didn’t have a withdrawal in the past, players can continually get the bonus which has a 10% max for each deposit.
Since this bonus only has a 1x rollover, it would make little sense for bettors to wager without a bonus. The bonus can’t be cashed out but can be used to bet until it is lost, making rollovers simple and giving players a built-in edge against all their markets.
The online bookmaker has retroactively taken winnings from players by claiming bonus abuse. In their terms and conditions listed at the bottom of the page, they only cite a signal rule that revolves around bonus abuse, and it’s extremely vague.
“5.08
In cases of abuse by players, the Deposit Bonus and its winnings will be canceled without explanation. Anonibet reserves the right to change the promotion rules and to terminate the promotion if it deems it necessary.”
This gives them a lot of leeway in deciding what defines bonus abuse and allows them to “freeroll” bettors in several spots.
Several players have already reported getting their winnings confiscated after so-called “bonus abuse.”
Sportsbook Highlights
Interface And Betting Markets
Anonibet has a solid interface. It’s not the flashiest product in the world, but it gets the job done. Navigating through markets is quite simple, and there are three odds types: American, decimal, and fractional.
Going further into the positive aspects of this sportsbook, they do offer just about everything in terms of wagering. All of the big North American and European based sports are well covered, along with small market sports such as futsal, beach volleyball and many more.
It’s always good to check if you’re looking for a more obscure sport, but it’s highly likely they have you covered.
They have improved their betting markets for each contest since we looked at them a couple years ago, but they are still dwarfed by other bitcoin competitors in terms of betting options per match.
Also, while they offer parlays and accumulators, they don’t offer much else in terms of exotics, aside from future wagers on major leagues.
The best attribute is their live betting platform. As we mentioned above, their odds aren’t their strong point, but their number of betting markets certainly is when it comes to in-play betting.
They offer just about every sport under the sun for live betting and have tons of betting options besides adjusted sides and totals.
Wagering Limits
The minimum wager amount at Anonibet is 0.001 BTC. Maximum betting limits will vary depending on the market.
They may have some with betting limits as low as 0.300 BTC and other major events as high as 5.0 BTC.
These limits aren’t much compared to many other BTC sportsbooks; the betting platform is a recreational sportsbook for the most part.
Their poor odds don’t help, either.
Customer Support
All of their pages feature a live chat button, which allows players to speak with a representative immediately during business hours. They also offer traditional email support.
Final Thoughts
It might seem crazy that we recommend that bettors steer clear of the oldest bitcoin sportsbook online, but there’s not much reason to play at Anonibet.
Their odds are subpar and while their support is excellent, it’s hard to trust management as a whole. They’ve taken players’ winnings retroactively and have refused to change their predatory terms regarding bonuses.
