Round Robin Bets
A round robin bet is an easy way to wager multiple parlays with a single bet. They make it easy for sports bettors to place parlays that consist of 3-8 lines and 2-6 teams.
Bettors can cover their bases and wager all possible combinations by using a round robin and bet many parlays at once.
The downside to these wagers is that gamblers bet too many legs or use too many selections in their parlay combinations.
You can find round robin bets at just about every online sportsbook, but they’re not often used by most sports gamblers.

How To Use The Round Robin Calculator?
Round robins can save bettors time by automatically creating all possible parlay bets with several selections.
Online sports betting sites will generally allow somewhere between 3-8 teams on round robins, but many some allow more teams than eight.
Bettors can then choose the number of parlays they want for each selection. These generally consist of 2-6 teams.
The calculator determines the maximum win and loss amount for a given round-robin, as well as the results based on whether each underlying game wins, loses, or pushes.
Calculator Inputs
- Notional Bet: Notional dollar amount of round robin bet
- Number of Games: Number of games included in the round robin bet
- Parlay Size: Number of games included in the parlays and whether that number constitutes a maximum or an exact figure
- Game N Line/Result: You can use Decimal or US Betting Odds. For Decimal odds greater than or equal to 100, preface the odds with either a ‘0’ or a ‘d’. For example, decimals odds of 200.0000 would be entered as either ‘d200’ or ‘0200’. The result can be set as WIN, PUSH, or LOSS) for each event
Calculator Outputs
- Max Win: Maximum possible dollar win on round robin bet
- Total Risk: Maximum possible dollar loss on round robin bet
- Situational Result: Profit or loss on round robin bet given actual event results

Round Robin Bets Explained
How Do Round Robin Parlays Work?
Round Robin Bet Example
Here is an example of how a round robin parlay works using NFL betting lines.
Say we wanted to bet a round robin with the three selections below:
- Pittsburgh Steelers -3 (-110)
- Dallas Cowboys +3.5 (-110)
- Detroit Lions +7 (-110)
Instead of parlaying all three teams in a 3-team parlay, which would offer worse odds than individual 2-team parlays, we can create all possible combinations of 2-team parlays using a round robin wager.
Parlay 1
- Pittsburgh Steelers -3 (-110)
- Dallas Cowboys +3.5 (-110)
Parlay 2
- Pittsburgh Steelers -3 (-110)
- Detroit Lions +7 (-110)
Parlay 3
- Detroit Lions +7 (-110)
- Dallas Cowboys +3.5 (-110)
Parlay odds don’t change when using a round robin. For example, for 2-team parlays with each side listed at -110, the odds will be +264 or around that number, which is the standard odds for most online sportsbooks.
It’s important to note that round robins won’t show up on bet slips as round-robin wagers. Instead, they will show up as individual parlays.
Difference Between Round Robins And Parlays
Though round robins are a series of parlay bets, there is one vital difference between betting a single parlay and a round robin.
Not every parlay must win for a round robin bet to be graded as a winner.
Each parlay is an independent event in a round robin and all parlay rules apply.

Round Robin Betting Strategy
Round robins are rarely utilized by bettors, and frankly, they’re not given enough ink.
They’re easily the fastest way to bet multiple parlays with a number of key selections.
If there are concerns about a line being moved or adjusted, there is no faster way to bet multiple parlays then using a round robin.
However, let’s not forget that even though we can choose between any number of parlays with any number of teams, that’s not the optimal way to utilize these wagers.
Below are two great strategies when betting on a round robin.
Betting Tip #1Stick to 2-Team Parlays
Sticking with 2-team parlays and not betting parlays with a high number of teams is the way to go.
You can accomplish this by:
- Choose your bets for your round robin bet from the sportsbook lines.
- Even if you’re betting multiple parlays, stick to two-team parlays to decrease the sportsbook’s advantage.
Betting Tip #2Cover All Straight Wagers You Want to Bet On
Parlay strategy doesn’t change when betting round robins. These wagers are best utilized to cover all bases with straight wagers that bettors feel strongly about and want to parlay together.
Look for profitable or +EV wagers that bet the market to include in your parlays.
Place your round robin bets, but stick to parlays of 2-3 teams per parlay and don’t go any higher.
Remember, stick to 2-team parlays and as always, go line shopping for the best odds.
Betting Tip #3Use Round Robins To Clear Bonuses
Since round robin bets are parlays, they can also be used for clearing sportsbook bonuses.
Each sports betting site will have specific rollover requirements for clearing bonuses, and parlays are an excellent way to clear them – especially when the bonus is in the form of freeplay, since it does not work the same way as a cash bonus.
Clearing a bonus with round robin bets is essentially the same as clearing a bonus using parlays.
Still, stick to 2 or 3 team parlays to keep the sportsbook’s edge lower when clearing bonuses with round robin bets.
Round Robin Betting Combinations Table
The table shows the number of bets needed to reach every possible betting combination.
This depends on the number of legs and size of parlay desired. The sportsbook’s edge increases as the number of bets in a parlay rise.
Picks (Parlay legs/bets) | Ways | Number of Bets |
---|---|---|
8 | 2 | 28 |

Sportsbook Bonuses For Round Robin Bets

History of the Round Robin
The round robin bet is a product of the proliferation of online sports betting.
There’s no doubt that bettors had parlay combinations written on sheets of paper back in the early days of Las Vegas sportsbooks. They had to do it the hard way!
Today, online sportsbooks know that players want to bet parlays in multiple combinations and they’ve made it easier on them with the round robin wager.
Depending on your sportsbook, round robin bets may not be recorded as such in your bet history.
Since round robins are just a series of bets that are put into multiple parlays, they may be recorded as individual parlays.
It just depends on your particular sportsbook’s way of recording your wagers.
If you check your bet history and see an extensive list of parlays recorded as individual selections, a mistake hasn’t been made.
