March Madness is one of the craziest tournaments in the world. I would say it’s fitting to have some crazy March Madness betting games to go along with an entire month filled with hoops.
We all fill our brackets and halfway into the tournament we watch it develop with disdain and horror. Like a bloody crime scene that just happened.
It’s fine. It happens to all of us. But that opens some other doors to have fun and collect money with different types of games.
Here are a few you should definitely try.

March Madness Bracket – The Best Game For The Big Dance
No matter what people say, filling out the March Madness bracket remains the king of College Hoops. Yes, we mostly suck at it, but that’s the way it should be.
The best part of the brackets is hitting any upset at any time of the tournament. It’s by far the best feeling.
My number one advice if you haven’t followed hoops all season is to watch the Championship week to find out which teams get in with the hottest form and are playing the best.
Then read our March Madness betting guide and just enjoy collecting money with the winners.

March Madness Fantasy Betting Game
Is there is such a thing? I don’t know, but it should be. And if it doesn’t exist, I’m here to create it.
Obviously, this game will be manually managed, but that’s fine. But, this is about going back to the roots.
Here is how it works:
- Invite between 10 and 12 friends, and then randomly give each one a seed to pick players.
- Each team picks eight players in the tournament, and the draft is made with a snake format.
- Each player gets one point per bucket, and two points per three-point shot scored.
- Also, players will score one point per assist and 0.5 points per rebound.
- The team/friend with the most points in the end wins.
I know it doesn’t look like much, and it isn’t, but it could be a lot of fun.
March Madness Pool Betting Game
This is one of my favorite March Madness betting games. The participants need to pick a winner in each game, and it gets the total points based on the teams’ seeding in the tournament.
Let’s say Duke is a number one seed, each win has a one-point value. But if Loyola has the 9th seed and you pick them to win, you get nine points in just one game.
It’s crazy how fortunes will change with one single upset. That’s why this is one is so much fun.
The one with the most points, in the end, wins it all. You can create a pool here.
Playing March Madness Squares
You probably have played Super Bowl squares. This is pretty much the same thing.
Bet on the last digit of the winning team combined with the last number of the winning team and you will find yourself a winner.
You can do this on each game in the tournament. I recommend it for the big games and from the Sweet Sixteen round to the final.
March Madness Upset Special Game
Depending on the round, assign points to the possible upsets. For example, a 16th seed team beating on number one gets 20 points. A 12th seed taking down a 5th seed values 15 points.
Once you get the value of each possible outcome, you will be adding up the points. The later the round, the fewer the points you get, but there are still a lot of chances to win.
Considering no 16th seed has ever beaten a number one seed, it’s fair to give that almost impossible result an insane value. The one with the most points takes all.
