The Shell Houston Open will be an exciting few days of golf filled with talent as golfers try to take down the event and get a ticket to the year’s first major, the Masters. The best of the bunch will use the tournament to prepare for Augusta while others will look to get a win to fill that final spot. The stakes are high, and the Houston Open betting scene is getting higher each year. This year the players are competing at the Houston Open for a purse of $7 million, and while all this is happening, bettors will aim to get their worth with some good odds.

The course is 72 yards and usually plays longer around 7,500 yards, but even short hitters have a chance to play well. Fairways are wide, but the rough isn’t the worst spot to be. Water is a significant factor on this course and is a hazard of 10 of the holes. Still, lower scores are common, even with all the pitfalls offered. Most winners are in the 14-16 under par range.

There could be delays depending on how the weather plays out. The early week it looks like the course will be wet. Later in the week and into the weekend, the weather looks great for golf. Sunny skies. Wind also looks like it won’t be a significant factor.

Rafael Cabrera Bello +2500
Cabrera-Bello has been playing out of his mind, lately. He got a T3 in WGC Mexico and has finished in the top-30 three other times this season. He’s second in strokes gained and 13th overall in Tee to Green statistics, as well. His performances have been strong as of late, but they still aren’t showing how great the Spaniard is playing as of late. He has a real chance to win the tournament. And, at +2500, he’s our favorite bet of the bunch.
