Bet Horizon Review Summary
Horizon Sports has a fairly lengthy history in the offshore industry. Their past dates back to 2005, according to SBR where their track record has been mostly good, aside from a blacklisting in 2002 over a bonus dispute. There are been a few complaints since then, but it seems the situations have been handled by management and players have been paid in full.
Horizon Sports has its roots as many parts of larger network of sports betting sites, but those dissipated several years after the UIGEA was passed in 2006. The site, which is now located at BetHorizon.es ran without skins for several years until it was acquired by Heritage Sports in 2011.
The acquisition or partial takeover by Heritage was seen as a positive for the sportsbook, but it turns out the agreement between the two sportsbooks dissolved a year after it was announced in 2011. SBR reported updated a report about four years later that the two sportsbooks had split nearly three years earlier.

A Personal Opinion on Bet Horizon
What We Like About Bet Horizon
They don’t offer a massive list of markets like many of the top books, but there’s plenty here to like. Their odds are competitive and for Americans who are interested in betting the four major sports, plus a few extras, they’re a perfectly fine option.
They are certainly a sportsbook geared to recreational bettors, but they do offer several deposit and withdrawal options, along with a free monthly withdrawal. Their bonus offer is small but has a generous rollover rate.
What We Don’t Like About Bet Horizon
Their not exactly a popular sportsbook by any stretch and there’s little information about their company or background. They also do get complaints, the latest one being from June, 2015. As we mentioned above, these are resolved, but payout delays are a reality at this sportsbook. They’re not scammers, however, as far as we can tell. If they suddenly got more popular, we might see more extended timeframes in terms of payouts.
Their deposits limits are unbelievably small. The maximum default deposit via MasterCard and Visa is $300 a month. Yes, that’s right per month. It’s not much better for check or money transfer, at $1,500 and $1,000, respectively. These can be raised by talking to support, but these default limits are ridiculous.
Speaking of support, it’s pretty terrible. Live chat seems to be available 24/7, but we’ve had several situations where no agent responded, despite the chat box stating that there was one in the room. Email responses are slow as well.

Bet Horizon Review – Deposits and Withdrawals
Horizon Sports has extremely low deposit limits. These can be raised if you talk to support, but as mentioned above, that can be extremely difficult to do at certain times. We were told by management that their credit and debit card processing was down in September 2015 and that the only way to deposit was via MoneyGram or Western Union.
Not having credit card processing isn’t exactly a great sign. Every US-facing sportsbook offers some of credit card processing, except Horizon Sports. They have check deposit listed as an available method, but apparently this is not available either.
Withdrawals are available in checks and through MoneyGram and Western Union. Cash transfers through MG and WU are quoted as same day processing, but this likely isn’t a realistic timframe. Players can request a check up to $3,000 within 10-12 business days, but once again these timeframes are not realistic based on the reports we’ve been receiving about withdrawal speeds.
Bet Horizon Sportsbook Bonuses
Deposit Bonus
There is a 25% Free Play Bonus for new depositors up to $500 when they deposit at Horizon Sports. Players will be able to do this for their first two deposits if they can’t deposit enough on the first deposit to reach the bonus. They also seem to offer a Welcome Bonus, in addition to the 25% free play that is a 15% cash bonus that comes with a 3x rollover. Their deposit bonus is excellent. The percentage adds up to 35% overall and includes a cash bonus and freeplay. The 3x rollover rate is also fantastic.
Bet Horizon Review Highlights
Betting Markets & Interface
Horizon Sports has one of the oldest backends we’ve seen in the sports betting market. The layout is certainly dated, (think 5Dimes, but even more archaic looking) but it seems to work without any bugs.
Placing a wager takes several screens and it becomes a bit tedious, even when it comes to picking your selections and confirming your wager. That isn’t to say there aren’t enough options, however.
We were surprised to see a large number of sports available for betting, along with many different bet types. They have straight wagers, parlays, teasers, round-robins, and if-bets and reverses. While their focus is major American sports, their betting markets are quite expansive. Live betting is available for all major US sports. There are tons of player and team props for baseball, football, basketball, both at the colligate and professional level.
There’s a ton of action available elsewhere as well. Soccer leagues around the world are available for betting, along with tennis, boxing, mixed martial arts and may other sports. They also have a racebook and an online casino. The sportsbook definitely caters more to Americans, but it is translated into Spanish as well. They may be targeting Spanish expats or Spanish speakers in the US, because it’s highly unlikely they’re on anyone radar for in Spanish speaking countries worldwide. There are far better options.
Wagering Limits at Bet Horizon Sportsbook
Betting limits at Horizon are larger than we thought they would be when we began our review. They’re still on the small side, but they take up to $5,000 on NFL moneylines, $2,000 on totals and up to $3,000 on moneylines. NCAA Football has a $2,000 max on sides, and $1,000 on moneylines and totals.
Betting limits for other sports we assume would be considerably lower, especially on more obscure markets like the WNBA or Polish soccer. Unfortunately, there’s no way for us to view these betting limits as they are not listed on the site and we didn’t receive any answers from our emails to support or live chat.
Bet Horizon Support Staff
Even when we did finally speak to live chat, they answered a few of our questions and ignored the others. The support staff at Bet Horizon might be the worst online.
Bet Horizon Sportsbook Review – Final Thoughts
Horizon Sports is a fringe operator in the industry and not one that we would recommend. However, despite the list of complaints against them, they do seem to play players, eventually. If you can get past the poor support and slow payouts, then they’re certainly a viable option. Their deposit bonus is decent and they have plenty of markets. We can’t recommend them until you’ve cleared bonuses at many other sportsbooks, but they are paying players are not a scam sportsbook even though there’s not a lot written about them online.
