Considering the number of injuries, the Bengals had last season – they were fortunate to finish with a 6-10 record. Still, the franchise made wholesale changes.
Gone is Marvin Lewis as head coach, who was the second-longest tenured coach in the league behind Mike Tomlin. Cincinnati has an uphill battle in an improved AFC North, but they still have some talent on their roster.
How will the Cincinnati Bengals 2019 season play out? We’ll analyze their offseason moves along with their draft picks and give you our prediction for their 2019 season win total.

Will The Bengals Win More Than 6 Games?
I think the Bengals fail to reach 6 wins this season. I would go with under 6 wins.
Too Much Reliance On Dalton And A Tough AFC North
They made some moves to improve their line this offseason, but it wasn’t enough. They will once again have to rely on Dalton through the air. Their defense also hasn’t shown to be anything than just okay. They lost a lot of talent there, especially up front. While their schedule doesn’t look too imposing, this team just isn’t very good.
Cincinnati Bengals 2019 Roster Changes – Welcome Zac Taylor
The most significant move of the offseason was the franchise hiring Zac Taylor as head coach.
After another rough year, the franchise finally decided to move on from long-time coach, Marvin Lewis. Rams’ ex-QBs coach, Zac Taylor will take over for Lewis.
He’s a young coach with fresh ideas offensively. Undoubtedly, a stark change from Lewis, but a necessary one.
Defense Loses Burfict; Offense Loses Kroft
Cincinnati moved on from long-time linebacker, Vontaze Burfict. He signed with the Oakland Raiders.
They also had to choose between tight ends, Tyler Kroft and C.J. Ozomah. Kroft signed a lucrative deal with the Buffalo Bills, and the Bengals opted to bring back Ozomah. He will pair with a pack of skill players that should be potent in A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd, and Joe Mixon.
However, Cincinnati made a curious deal in bringing back lineman, Bobby Hart. They signed Hart to a 21 million dollar contract, paying him like Clint Boling, who is their best piece in the offensive line.
Offensive line play will be a big part of how successful the franchise is this season.
Cincinnati Bengals 2019 Draft
The Bengals went after the line with the first pick, drafting Jonah Williams out of Alabama. The offensive lineman can play both guard and tackle in the NFL, and those are areas of need for the Cincy.
He should help in the run game, but also with pass protection for Andy Dalton.
Curiously, they went with a tight end in Drew Sample with their second pick, but this makes sense if they don’t believe in Ozomah long term or feel Eifert will get hurt again.
Great Pick With Germaine Pratt
They scored rave reviews from critics in the third round, with pick no — 72 in Germaine Pratt. The NC State linebacker is not massive but hits hard.
He could end up starting right away in what is a depleted linebacking corps for the Bengals.
Cincinnati Bengals Schedule 2019 And Divisional Competition
By most metrics, the Bengals have one of the easier schedules in the league.
While they do face New England late in the year, they will get them at home. Other than that, they miss much of the AFC’s best. They do face the NFC West but have decent draws in these matchups.
An away game at the Rams isn’t much different than being back in Ohio based on the crowds in L.A last season.
The AFC North Is A Tough Division
The AFC North is a tough division, and it looks like it got more robust in the offseason.
The Steelers lost some talent, but the Browns and the Ravens seemed to improve their rosters.
I have a hard time seeing the Bengals winning many of their divisional games, which represents a real problem for their season win total.
