MotoGP Betting Championship Predictions

MotoGP winter testing is complete. The countdown begins to the 2019 FIM Grand Prix World Championship season opener on Sunday at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar. Marc Marquez begins his quest for a sixth MotoGP championship title. He is likely to face a challenge from his new teammate Jorge Lorenzo.

The early racing action in Qatar didn’t bring much luck to Marc but despite an early crash in FP3, he led the way in FP3 and on the combined times to go into qualifying as the man to beat, with Valentino Rossi and his teammate Jorge Lorenzo not far behind. Let’s see how they all fare in the qualifying. It is shaping to be an exciting season to watch, I am placing my MotoGP bets at Bovada Sportsbook.

MotoGP 2019 Championship Betting Odds

Before we can place bets on the Qatar GB let’s talk about who may win the overall MotoGP Championship in 2019. If you said, that Marc will capture his 7th title again and nobody will make him work for it you just have taken the easy way out. So, is Marc Márquez unbeatable?

Jorge Lorenzo has been the only rider able to interrupt Márquez’s run for the titles. Now they’re teammates at Repsol Honda squad. Lorenzo is unequaled when everything is perfect but the big fight between him and Marc will likely be psychological versus on the track. The history gives an edge to Jorge in the psychological warfare department. So despite, the Bovada oddsmakers having Marc as the favorite at -154 I am being a contrarian and betting $200 on Jorge at +575 to win the MotoGP title in 2019 season.

What about Dovizioso, Petrucci, and Rossi?

Ducati continues to innovate and challenge the Japanese giants. Gigi Dall’Igna has turned the once-untamed beast became a fast, powerful tool under skillful hands of two riders Andrea Dovizioso and Danilo Petrucci. It seems that Dovizioso’s ego isn’t are big as Rossi’s and we find him giving Petrucci advice.

Andrea understand that a fast teammate is essential for the development of the bike which will help with his chances of claiming the title. There is a lot of “ifs” and “buts” when it comes to the performance of Ducati in MotoGP racing. But I am willing to bet on their recent push into “innovation” and Dovizioso’s skills and I am putting $150 on him at Bovada Sportsbook at +450.

Now comes the punt. It is really hard not to, at 40 years old with the relentless hunger to race, to improve and to win Valentino Rossi is my dark horse to win in 2019. He came in 3rd last year and although, neither he or the bike has shone during the winter testing in the season of 19 races lots can happen. Yamaha is making a big push to improve and bring back itself to the top where it used to belong which I consider as another positive in the mix. I am betting my remaining $150 on him at +900 to win the 2019 championship.

MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix Betting Predictions

Maverick Viñales and his Yamaha have taken the first MotoGP pole position of the 2019 season at the Qatar Grand Prix, a 1:53.546 putting him 0.198 clear of second place Andrea Dovizioso with Marc Marquez claiming P3 on his final flying lap to finish just 0.001 off the Ducati rider. This is the first race of the season full of unknowns about race pace for each bike, tire performance, race reliability and mental and physical fitness of each rider. The odds favor Marc Marquez and that’s where I am betting for the winner of Qatar Grand Prix 2019 at Bovada.
