Four of the last seven Defensive Rookie of the Year winners have been defensive linemen. Guess what? The 2020 favorite is also a pass rusher.
Yeah, there’s a trend.
But it’s always a good idea to look around if there is any value in other positions.
These are the 2020 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year betting odds.

The Favorite: Chase Young +135
A lot of draft experts called Chase Young the best talent in the whole 2020 NFL Draft. Young was selected with the second overall pick because Cincinnati needed a quarterback, and Joe Burrow had an impressive season as a senior in LSU.
Washington was happy about that.
The Football team doesn’t have much to fight for this season. They are in a rebuilding stage. But Young will lineup with other former first-round draft picks in the defensive line. None is as talented as he is.
Young had a great debut in the NFL. He had four tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble against Philadelphia. Yeah, he’s that good.
The Value Pick: Isaiah Simmons +700
With Young carrying the torch for the pass rusher, we have to look somewhere else for value.
Arizona’s LB Isaiah Simmons is a game-changer that will get a lot of attention this season, especially if the Cardinals do well this year.
Simmons is 7/1 with plenty of value. Arizona’s defense is young and fast. Isaiah Simmons needs to grow within the system and will get a lot of buzz for DROY.
The Longshot: CJ Henderson +2500
If you saw the first game of the Jaguars in the NFL season, you know by now CJ Henderson is a stud.
He covered all the Colts’ best players, made tremendous plays, and intercepted his first pass of the season.
Henderson has one thing going his way. He’s playing in an aggressive defense, teaming up with stars like Myles Jack and Josh Allen. Both will put so much pressure on opposing quarterbacks that a lot of balls will come his way.
CJ has excellent hands, and I see him as a sneaky longshot to win the award.
